FBLA Fall Leadership Conference

FBLA Attended their annual Fall Leadership Conference at the State House in Montpelier on September 26, 2017. Students attended business workshops and Key Note speaker Camille Yameen gave an inspirational speech on adventure and leadership.  The Governor proclaimed yesterday as Vermont FBLA/DECA day.  It was a great experience for all that attended.

SkillsUSA Awarded Chapter of Distinction Gold Level

NCCC SkillsUSA was honored with a banner for for Chapter of Distinction Gold Level presented by Jane Donahue-Davis, executive director of SkillsUSA Vermont. North Country Career Center Chapter was recognized for its chapter excellence, particularly for community service. Ms. Davis expressed what a great impact these activities have on our community and on SkillsUSA members themselves. Accepting the honor on behalf of NCCC was chapter president Cheyenne Falconer. NCCC was one of only two chapters in Vermont who were part of the Chapter of Excellence program this year.

Lead Paint and Vermont's Essential Maintenance Practices

NCCC Adult Education is partnering with Vermont Department of Health to offer the Vermont Lead Law- Essential Maintenance Practices Training Course which is required for pre-1978 rental property owners and persons performing maintenance repairs and renovation. Hospitality Gala Thursday, May 11

Come to the North Country Career Center 2nd Annual Hospitality Gala this Thursday 5/11/17 from 3:30-7:00pm. Stop in anytime and check out our 1920's inspired food by culinary arts students, service by hospitality students, and art by our visual arts students. There will be a display of photography of Newport in the 1920's, a photo booth, silent auction, fun for the kids, and much more! All proceeds go to the HALO foundation, which gives back to Orleans County residents who are facing with cancer. Hope to see you there!

March 22, 2017 - Local North Country Union High School and Career Center students attended the Vermont FBLA Spring Conference at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, Vermont. This was a tremendous learning experience for everyone who attended. Each student chose events to compete in, some tests were taken online before the conference, and some students participated in role-play events at the conference.

The STEM & Mechatronics Students at Vermont Air National Guard

Mr. Converse and The STEM & Mechatronics students took a field trip to the Vermont Air National Guard in Burlington.  Students got to explore Aircraft Electronics (Avionics), Civil Engineering and Base Camp Establishment, Bomb Disposal, and Robotics and Drones.  The Air Guard is always looking for motivated people who are engaging and great problem solvers!

Fly-fishing Summer Camp! (age 13-16) will be introduced to the basics of fly fishing through a series of fun and engaging outdoor activities.
