Earn your CDL and start a rewarding new career! This class offers 150 hours of training for students seeking a class A CDL. Classes meet at CCV in Newport for classroom instruction and at the driving range in Barton for driving practice.

Students must be at least 18 with a valid VT driver’s license and have the ability to pass a five-panel drug test and a DOT physical.

Introduction to Welding

Learn basic skills in shielded metal arc welding (stick welding) processes, as well as the safety procedures required to set up and shut down welding equipment. This intro class meets the prerequisite for our longer welding certification course.

Introduction to Positive Psychology: A Train the Trainer Course

Basic Refrigeration and Charging Procedures (HVACR)

Small Engine Repair

This program will teach you medical and pharmaceutical terminology, basic anatomy related to the pharmacology of medications, and pharmaceutical calculations. You will also get hands-on practice in retail pharmacy procedures through an online lab module. Learn what information is necessary to process prescriptions and physician orders and apply that knowledge to fill mock prescriptions. Other topics include ethics of pharmacy practice, patient care and interaction, and charges and reimbursement.

Students also have the opportunity to apply for a 100+ hour externship at a local Walgreens pharmacy.

Upon completion, sit for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE), offered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB), the fee for which is included in tuition.

Dental Assisting Program

Train to become a dental assistant in as little as six months. This hybrid program includes online learning as well as a paid dental assisting training position with a local dental practice which allows students to earn while they learn. Designed for those with no previous experience with digital cameras, this course will teach you all about digital cameras, from DSLRs to smartphone cameras and what different equipment is used for. Learn about different display methods for your camera, including sizing, print options, online storage, and how social media factors into digital photography. If you have old slides, negatives, or prints, you will also learn how to scan those "old school" photo assets.

Mid-Winter 2023

A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required to make a reservation.

Will include a pre-vehicle use impairing substance drug screening.

The balance is due on February 7 at orientation.

Checks should be made out to Precision Driver Training School.

This course is for teenagers or adults who have a current Vermont Learner’s Permit and want to obtain a Vermont Driver’s License. While this course meets all state requirements, it places special emphasis on crash avoidance, situational awareness, and zone control. The academic component includes 15 or 16 classroom lessons, each lesson being 2 hours long. The driving component typically includes 12 or 13 behind-the-wheel lessons.
