NKHS offers QPR Gatekeeper Training for people of any age to raise awareness, dispel myths and misconceptions, and teach three skills that can help save a life. A QPR Gatekeeper will learn to recognize the warning signs of suicide, know how to offer hope, know how to get help and save a life.

Mental Health First Aid 

June 20, 2023

9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

No Cost For Participants - Tuition

Just as CPR helps you assist an individual having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. In the Mental Health First Aid course, you learn risk factors and warning signs for mental health and addiction concerns, strategies for how to help someone in both crisis and non-crisis situations, and where to turn for help. Topics that are covered are depression and mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, psychosis and substance use disorders.
