During this four week course  learn skills in basic electric arc, oxy-fuel, gas metal arc, and gas tungsten arc welding processes, as well as the safety procedures required to set up and shut down welding equipment. Industrial standards and American Welding Society standards are the foundations of our curriculum. Teaching will be accelerated depending on the student’s experience. The skills you learn can help land you a job at many local manufacturers. People who have enjoyed this class have been hobbyists, farmers, artists, and mechanics.

Join us for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn to craft your very own Adirondack chair! This classic outdoor furniture piece combines comfort and style, making it perfect for any patio, deck, or garden. Whether you’re a seasoned woodworker or a complete beginner, this class will guide you through the entire process, from selecting materials to the final finishing touches.

Skills Learned:

Wood Selection: Understand the best types of wood for outdoor furniture, focusing on durability and aesthetics.

Planning and Prepping: using a planer and jointer making the rough cut lumber furniture grade wood the wood for milling.

Measurement & Cutting: Learn how to accurately measure and cut wood pieces for the perfect fit.

Joinery Techniques: Discover essential joinery methods to ensure your chair is sturdy and long-lasting.

Assembly & Finishing: Gain skills in assembling your chair and applying finishes to protect against the elements.

Introduction to Automotive Maintenance

In this five week (one night a week) course students will complete a basic automotive assessment to share what they already know and to identify gaps in knowledge, learn the names of major automotive systems and the important components of each, learn the basics of how different automotive systems work together in a vehicle and practice identifying the major systems and components on actual vehicles. The tools needed for the course are provided by the school.

During this five week course (one Saturday a week) learn skills in grind polishing, layout, bending and project planning. Industrial standards and American Welding Society standards are the foundations of our curriculum. Teaching will be accelerated depending on the students's experience. The goal for many will be preparation for AWS certification.

This six week (one night a week course) course is a great one! The course will teach you all about using hand tools by different projects a week. The course will help to teach you how to build a bat and bird house, tiling and make a lamp out of what you have.

Basic Refrigeration & Charging Procedures (HVACR)

This eight week (one night a week) course is an introduction to air conditioning and refrigeration theory, application, systems, components, troubleshooting, and system charging. Hands-on training in our HVACR lab will test students in a variety of scenarios that they will encounter in the field. Students in this class will test for EPA 608 Certification.

TQP Fire Alarm Continuing Education for Electricians

This one day course provides Vermont electricians who have the T1 fire alarm endorsement with the required eight hours of continuing education needed to continue providing inspection and testing of fire alarm and detection systems and equipment.  New Hampshire electrical inspector Ken Vallery leads this class, bringing a sense of humor and real-world experience from his 35+ years in the field.

This five week (one night a week course) course is one of our most  popular class offers hands-on experience diagnosing and addressing a variety of common issues with small engines.  Students are encouraged to bring in their mowers, chainsaws, generators, and other small engines in this “fix what you broke” course.
