During this four week course  learn skills in basic electric arc, oxy-fuel, gas metal arc, and gas tungsten arc welding processes, as well as the safety procedures required to set up and shut down welding equipment. Industrial standards and American Welding Society standards are the foundations of our curriculum. Teaching will be accelerated depending on the student’s experience. The skills you learn can help land you a job at many local manufacturers. People who have enjoyed this class have been hobbyists, farmers, artists, and mechanics.

Planning and Prepping: using a planer and jointer making the rough cut lumber furniture grade wood the wood for milling.

Measurement & Cutting: Learn how to accurately measure and cut wood pieces for the perfect fit.

Joinery Techniques: Discover essential joinery methods to ensure your chair is sturdy and long-lasting.

Assembly & Finishing: Gain skills in assembling your chair and applying finishes to protect against the elements.

Introduction to Automotive Maintenance

In this five week (one night a week) course students will complete a basic automotive assessment to share what they already know and to identify gaps in knowledge, learn the names of major automotive systems and the important components of each, learn the basics of how different automotive systems work together in a vehicle and practice identifying the major systems and components on actual vehicles. Beginning students will learn how to center a ball of clay and shape it into various objects.  Students with previous experience will learn techniques to make more complicated forms and hone in their skills.  This class is a great opportunity for students of all levels to explore clay on the potter’s wheel in a fun and creative atmosphere. The course will be six weeks long.

This class meets online during scheduled times. here are seven online modules and one introductory session. Students will consume content asynchronously prior to live biweekly online Zoom calls and explore ways in which the material can be applied to both their personal and professional lives.

Cricut Crash Course

Get to know your Cricut machines at a beginner level to create customized crafts. Basic templates will be used to familiarize you with Cricut Design Space.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to: Utilize temporary, permanent and heat-transfer vinyl, cut and assemble 3D projects, work with non-paper material such as: balsa wood, leather, etc. and produce a layered sticker with multiple colors

Participants should bring their own Cricut machines and coordinating devices (tablet, laptop or smartphone) and project materials (vinyl, transfer tools, etc.) if they have them. Two Cricut machines and basic supplies will be available for class use. 

Small Engine Repair

This five week (one night a week course) course is one of our most  popular class offers hands-on experience diagnosing and addressing a variety of common issues with small engines.  Students are encouraged to bring in their mowers, chainsaws, generators, and other small engines in this “fix what you broke” course.

Learn the fundamentals of bicycle repair. Students will learn basic skills including bicycle cleaning & safety check, trail fixes such as flat tire & broken chain repairs, drivetrain adjustment & assessment, brake system adjustment & assessment, and bicycle setup.  Bring your own bike to become familiar with set-up & maintenance and practice essential skills.
