Class Overview

Two year program open to all eleventh and twelfth grade students who are in good academic standing. Tenth grade students may apply with permission.  Students will learn concepts related to leadership, customer service, marketing and communication, money management and business planning.

In year one students create a school store business plan based on the leadership, teamwork, business and marketing concepts learned such as accounting, customer service, business ethics, marketing and advertising. The Falcon’s Nest business plan is brought to life through real-world application in the school store school-based enterprise. Each student holds a key role in the school store from selecting and ordering inventory to running the cash register to running financial reports using the Quickbooks accounting software.  In year two students focus on business operations and take a deeper dive into what it takes to run a successful business. We go on trips to a variety of businesses throughout our community to learn from local entrepreneurs.
