Through hands-on activities and labs students learn to assemble and configure a computer, install operating systems and software, and troubleshoot hardware and software problems. In addition, this course includes an introduction to networking and cybersecurity, preparing students to test for the CompTIA A+ certification. Characteristics of the Linux and Windows network operating systems will be discussed. Students will explore a variety of topics including installation and configuration procedures. More advanced administrative tasks such as troubleshooting issues, security issues, and remote access will also be covered. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will receive a Certificate of Completion for Cisco CCNA Discovery: Networking for Home and Small Businesses.
