A MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR:
Dear North Country Career Center Students, Parents and Guardians,
I hope this letter finds you well and adjusting to the new world we are facing in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. I know that you have received information from both North Country Union High School and Lake Region Union High School about schedules and opening. Because the Career Center serves both schools, it has been especially challenging to create a schedule that meets the needs of all students and provides the amount of time required for students to learn and practice their technical skills. Just like our two sending schools, we have adopted a hybrid model utilizing a 4 X 4 block schedule and will be remote on Wednesdays. However, because of our small class sizes, we are able to open at 100% capacity. That means that career center programs will meet every day, for either a single or double block, on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. While program schedules differ slightly, all programs will meet every day for a single block during one semester, and every day for a double block in the other semester. Students will be getting their schedules from their home high school and will be able to see where their career center program fits into their day.
So what does this mean if you are not scheduled to be doing in-school instruction at your home high school on a given day? Lake Region will be sending the bus up every day to transport the career center students regardless of whether you are scheduled to attend that day. Students from North Country who are riding the bus to school, but are not scheduled to be in their NCUHS classes in person, will be able to utilize a career center classroom for their online learning when they are not in their career center program. Students with their own transportation may come to school for their career center program and then leave school when it ends. No students will be allowed to remain in the building when not in a career center class or a supervised study hall for online learning.
In addition to the guidance and direction provided by the VT Agency of Education’s Strong and Healthy Start document, the North Country Career Center has adopted specific measures to help ensure the health, safety and well-being of our students, staff and community. The complete NCCC Covid-19 Addendum to the Handbook is above.
If you have any specific questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me by email.

What We've Done:
We have been busy cleaning and arranging classrooms this summer to prepare for a safe reopening this fall! Please do not forget that all students and staff need to wear masks while inside the school building and on the bus. This is for everyone's safety and will help keep any germs from spreading to others. We thank you for helping to keep our community healthy!
