Shareable Links on your Documents

Perhaps one of the most frustrating things about Google is sharing a document or trying to open a document that has been shared with you and not being able to view the document.  Usually, link sharing is the reason why you are having a problem.  EVERY DOCUMENT that you add to your portfolio (and any Google document that you would like to share with someone in general) must have the link sharing capacity turned on.  To do that, you should use the following steps.

Step One:

Open your drive and go to the screen that lists all of your contents.  When you see the file you are looking for you will right click in front of it causing the document title to be highlighted and the menu to pop up.

Step Two:

When the menu pops up the link sharing option will be there.  Click on Get Link.

Step Three:

Click on the bottom option anyone can view if you would like to share with potential employers or anyone outside the NCSU.  Click on North Country Supervisory Union if you only want to have those in the SU be able to view your documents when your portfolio is shared.
